Operations & Communications Manager

The Operations and Communications Manager will be an essential part of the Parks Foundation. This person will maintain a positive office atmosphere and manage the bookkeeping/financial operations of this young organization. This person will foster positive public awareness, understanding, and support of Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation through effective oversight and execution of strategic marketing and communications through print and digital media. This person will also oversee the Communications Coordinator VISTA and VISTA Leader. VISTA supervisor duties include recruiting, conducting on-site orientations and training, evaluations and project delegation and support. For more information, click here.

Naturalist Educator

The Naturalist Educator will primarily build and enhance the Student Stewards Program, which uses public parks as learning laboratories where students engage in hands-on citizen science. More information can be found here.

Student Stewards Program Outreach Coordinator VISTA

The Student Stewards Program (SSP) Outreach Coordinator VISTA will focus on community outreach and marketing of the health benefits associated with the Parks Foundation’s youth educational programs and events including the Student Stewards Program and Junior Naturalist Program (JNats). More information can be found here.

Recreation Curriculum Coordinator VISTA (City of Reno)

The Recreation Curriculum Coordinator VISTA serves primarily to develop healthy living, educational, and recreation components to the Youth Programs for the City of Reno, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department in local elementary schools, parks, and community centers. Community Education Coordinator VISTA (Carson City Parks)

The Community Education Coordinator VISTA serves primarily to build and enhance new community health-based education programs in Carson City parks and open spaces placing special emphasis on underserved groups. More information can be found here

Wildlife Educator (Nevada Department of Wildlife [Southern Nevada])

The Wildlife Educator, an AmeriCorps member, will be an essential member of the team for conservation education. This person will primarily support the classroom programming, field trips, and community programming offered in the Las Vegas area. More information can be found here

Through service duties, members will contribute to and support the growth and production of produce to be donated to local food banks.
