Our STEAM based camp is now available for Junior Explorers, ages 6-8, in partnership with Sierra Nevada Journeys. These special sessions, facilitated by Sierra Nevada Journeys, will be offered for 5 weeks at Rosewood Nature Study Area,
Monday-Friday 9am-3:30pm.

About Our Science Camps
Join Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation for exciting outdoor adventures as we turn our local parks into learning laboratories! During Summer Break, we offer nine weeks of our Student Stewards Camp and five weeks of Junior Explorers Camp, an extension of our Student Stewards Program. Connect to the natural world through outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, experiments, games, crafts, and more!

Our Summer Camps are STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), standards-based option for school vacation.
Tuition
Camp registration starts at $275 per student per week, but scholarships are available!
$275 per week

Tuition for a camper is $250 + a $25 non-refundable deposit per week.​

Lunch is included in the tuition and will be provided!

Early Care hours (8am-9am, Monday-Friday) and Late Care hours (4pm-5:30pm* Monday-Thursday) are available for an additional fee. Please be aware, if parents/guardians are late to pick-up students (later than 5:30 pm), late fees will be charged. There are no afternoon extended hours on Fridays.

*For Junior Explorers Camp, aftercare is from 3:30pm-5:00pm.​

2024 Camp Weeks
Student Stewards 2024 Summer Camp will offer nine awesome weeks of camps for students ages 8-12, beginning June 10th and running through August 9th, 2024.

Junior Explorers 2024 Summer Camp will offer five awesome weeks of camp for students ages 6-8, beginning June 17th and running through July 19th, 2024.

Students Stewards Campers can be picked up and dropped off at the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation Office, located in Idlewild Park at 50 Cowan Drive, Reno NV.

Junior Explorers Campers can be picked up and dropped off at Rosewood Nature Study Area, 6800 Pembroke Dr. Reno, NV.

Camp will take place outdoors, so please make sure your student is wearing weather appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes.

For Student Stewards Camp, Wednesday is Field Trip Day when we will be taking a school bus to explore other places in our community related to the week's theme (museums, other parks, trails, etc.).

Student Stewards Camp Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.

Junior Explorers Camp Hours are Monday-Friday 9am -3:30pm.

Parents/guardians will need to sign their students out with a photo ID before heading home.

Student Stewards Extended Care hours (Early Care: 8am-9am, Monday-Friday / After Care: 4pm-5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday) are available for an additional fee.

Junior Explorers Extended Care hours (Early Care: 8am-9am Monday-Friday / After Care: 3:30pm-5pm Monday-Thursday) are also available for an additional fee.

There are no afternoon extended hours on Fridays.
About Our Camp Educators
All our Camp Educators:

Are First Aid and CPR certified

Hold at minimum a bachelor's degree in a STEAM-related field

Are experienced working with children and

Are passionate about outdoor education!
Cancellation Policy
If your student is unable to attend a week of camp for which they are registered, please contact us. If a cancellation occurs at least 14 days before the camp is scheduled to begin, refunds are available. No partial refunds for missed days. Deposits are non-refundable.
