Student Stewards Science Camp FAQs

Winter Edition

How old are the students at this camp?

Students between the ages of 8 - 12 are eligible to attend.

How many kids are at camp each week?

The Student Stewards Winter Break Camp will have 20 available spots for students. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Keeping our camp small will ensure that each student is given the individualized attention, care, and guidance that they need.

 

What are the dates of the camp?

Winter Break Camp will run between the dates of Wednesday, January 3rd to Friday, January 5th, 2024.

 

What time does camp start and end?

Regular hours camp hours are 9am - 4pm. Students can be picked up and dropped off at the Rosewood Nature Study Area, located at 6800 Pembroke Dr.

Extended hours (8am-9am before care and 4pm-5:30pm after care) are available for an additional fee:  $15 for before care and $10 for after care.

**Please be aware, parents/guardians CANNOT be later than 5:30pm to pick-up students. If parents/guardians are late to pick-up students (later than 5:30 pm), a late fee will be charged. Also, please note that there is no after care on Fridays.

 

How do I register my child for camp?

Registration is online, click here to register! You will need to pay a $25 deposit with a credit or debit card before registration is complete and your student's spot in camp is secured.

How much does camp cost?

Winter Break Camp camp costs $150 per student. 

Lunch is included with tuition!

 

Are scholarships available?

Need-based scholarships are available. If you are interested, please fill out the scholarship application when registering, or contact Bradley (bradley@tmparksfoundation.org).

 

Does my child qualify for a need-based scholarship?

Your student may qualify for a need-based scholarship. Please fill out the scholarship application on the application page, or contact Bradley (bradley@tmparksfoundation.org) with questions, or to ask about the scholarship procedure.

What about the food situation?

For Winter Break Camp, lunch is included in the price for tuition!

Students are welcome to bring their own food/snacks from home as well.

What should my student bring to camp each day?

  • Sturdy shoes appropriate for being active outside (must have a back to them; no flip-flops or crocs, please)

  • Weather appropriate clothing (jacket, warm pants, etc.)

  • Water bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Hat

  • Backpack

  • Snack

  • Downtime items (books, notebooks, cards, etc.)
